Arno Piters

Arno Piters (1980) studied clarinet and e-flat clarinet at the Music Academy of Maastricht with Jan Cober and Willem van der Vuurst. He graduated with distinction. Afterwards he studied at the Music Academy of Amsterdam with George Pieterson and graduated with distinction again.
He was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester (GMJO) and played under such conductors as Pierre Boulez, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Bernard Haitink. Arno has made several Cd recordings of works of Strawinsky, Piazolla, Brahms and Schumann. As a soloist, he played with orchestras all over Europe. He’s a guest player in the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Cologne Radio Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic and at the invitation of Valery Gergiev in the World Orchestra for Peace. In chamber music festivals he played with a.o. Janine Jansen, Mischa Maisky and Daniel Hope.
From 2001 until 2004 Arno held the position for e-flat in the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra. In March 2004 he was appointed (e-flat) clarinet in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam.
He is a Professor of clarinet at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and teaches masterclasses all over Europe, Asia and the Americas.
